Kenyon Midget Schedule offers competitors, fans variety for 2022

PENDLETON, IN – Although most of the Midwest is still blanketed in snow it won't be look before racing will begin in earnest in the Hoosier State. USSA has announced a planned 13-race schedule for the Kenyon Midget Series with a healthy mix of pavement and dirt track racing.

Added to the schedule for the first time in series history is a visit to the quarter-mile dirt Gas City Speedway on June 3. The Kenyon Midget's are part of a racing program that includes non-wing sprints and Modifieds.

The season kicks off on April 9 at the historic Anderson Speedway which has been hosting events since the series started. The Dick Jordan Classic headlines the first night on the high-banked quarter-mile oval. The series returns to Anderson Speedway on June 11, July 9 for the Don and Mel Kenyon 75, July 30, September 17 and Oct. 6. Winners at Anderson Speedway last season included Aryton Houk, Kameron Gladish, Colin Grissom and Dameron Taylor.

The second stop of the year is on April 23 at the Montpelier Motor Speedway, which marks the first of four races on dirt. It will be a return appearance for the series. The Kenyon Midgets are part of the Open Wheel Springtacular with the BOSS Sprint Car series, Modifieds and Midwest Thunder Midgets.

The series returns to the quarter-mile paved Shadybowl Speedway in Ohio on May 21 after a long absence. That racing program features Late Models, Compacts and Thunder Cars.

There is a return to Mt. Lawn Speedway to battle the tricky paved oval on July 3 where Aryton Houk scored the win in 2021.

The series returns to the Circle City Speedway dirt oval on September 4 where they join the UMP Modified Series and the Outlaw 600 non-wing Micros. Jack Macenko scored the victory in the inaugural trip to the newly opened speedway in 2021.

The season comes to a close at the eighth-mile U.S. 24 Speedway dirt oval with several different Micro Series on the program.

There is one event too be determined on September 24 which is tentatively scheduled for a paved oval.
