Fast qualifier award expanded for Kenyon Midget Series

PENDLETON, IN – The Mel Kenyon Midget Series has announced the K&K Marketing Fast Qualifier Award will be expanded for the 2022 season.

Since 2018 K&K Marketing has sponsored the Fast Qualifier Award at all USSA events at Anderson Speedway. The fast qualifier for all Kenyon Midget events on the quarter-mile paved Anderson Speedway received a $50 bonus. Series officials have announced that the K & K Marketing Fast Qualifier bonus will be awarded at all Kenyon Midget events in 2022.

“We were encouraged by the efforts of Don and Mel Kenyon to develop open wheel asphalt racing talent,” Kelly de la Bastide, co-owner of K&K Marketing said. “We want to provide some support for the competitors.”

Since it's inception in 2018 K & K Marketing has paid out $2,400 to the fast qualifiers at Anderson Speedway in Kenyon Midget Series events.

Kameron Gladish has claimed fast qualifier honors at Anderson Speedway a total of seven times.

Defending Series Champion Ayrton Houk claimed the honors four times in 2021, equally the mark or former champion Dameron Taylor.

Tommy Kouns set fast time at Anderson Speedway four times, all coming in 2019 and Sam Hinds claimed the honors three times in 2020.

Ryan Huggler was the first K & K Marketing Fast Qualifier award winner in 2018 and Jessica Bean claimed the honor in 2020.
