After being away from the sport for over a decade, Lee's wife orchestrated some behind the scenes connections to get him back in the seat. After the 2022 Rumble in Fort Wayne she saw what it really meant to him. "I saw tears well up in his eyes when we walked in the building and it wasn't just from the fumes!"

Pierce, 47, is planning on running as much of the 2024 Kenyon Midget Series as possible. He has previously raced karts at several Central Indiana tracks. He has also ran a dirt stock car at Putnamville, but the love of midgets came in his early 20's when he rented a car at the Speedrome on several occasions during the old NAMARS days. "To me there's nothing more racey than a midget!"

He loves the family atmosphere at the track. "You're surrounded by some of the best people in racing and they treat you like a brother. It's a very humbling experience." He has quickly friended Don and Mel Kenyon who live just minutes down the road. Nick Hamilton, who Lee met at a local gym played a huge part in the whole process. He also has spoken with Kyle Hamilton and Joe Liguori who are also within a short driving distance and isn't afraid to reach out to them for any help.

"I know I will struggle at first being competitive but with all the resources at hand I feel like this was the best opportunity for me."

When not racing Pierce manages an insurance agency based in Indianapolis.

Pierce gives special thanks to Steve Clay, Brad Hayes, The Kenyons and the Hamiltons for making this possible!
