Osborne looking to rebound in 2022

Coming off a disappointing season, Ohio driver Trey Osborne is looking to rebound and contend for the Kenyon Midget Series title. Osborne, 19, works as a mechanic at a high performance and Muscle Car business.
He has a past history of success with the series winning Rookie of the Year honors in 2015 and the championship in 2018. Osborne has six career wins with the Kenyon Midget Series.
During his time with the series Osborne said the level of the competition continues to increase.
“Everyone is just so close,” he said. “It's really hard, but really fun.”
The first year he started racing in a Kenyon Midget he needed a telephone book to sit on to see above the front cowling.
“Our plan is to run for the full season, unless something else comes up,” Trey said. “The plan is to run for the championship. I want to get another championship and have fun.”
If successful in that undertaking he will join Dameron Taylor as the only multi-year champion.
“I spent the whole off season going through the car,” he said. “Everything is pretty much new or redone on it. Looking forward to see what I can do with it.”
Osborne said he will run a sprint car on dirt some in 2022 and has hopes of someday getting another opportunity to race in the Lucas Oil Little 500 at Anderson Speedway.
Osborne said new series owner Brad Hayes will bring new ideas to the series.
“I like all of them so far,” he said of the changes. “Updating the car and rules and more tech.”
