Kenyon Midgets head to Paragon

By Ken de la Bastide

When the Kenyon Midget Series travels to Paragon Speedway for the first dirt track race of the season it will present new challenges to the competitors. The 3/8-mile Paragon Speedway is the biggest dirt track the Kenyon Midget Series will have visited in recent year.

There have been five dirt track races for the Series in the past two years with the biggest oval being a quarter-mile. Jackson Macenko has won three of the races on dirt in 2021 and 2022 with Trey Osborne and Colin Grisson each scoring one victory.

Osborne, who decided to take his racing career in a different direction last year running a full sized dirt sprint car. In two races at Paragon this year Osborne has scored two top-five finishes.

“Paragon is going to be the most difficult track for the Kenyon Series,” Osborne said. “The straights are really long and the corners are tight. It's a huge track,” he said. “It's a momentum track because of the long straights. You have to keep your momentum up to run well.”

Osborne said the facilities and promoter are great.

After two races Aryton Houk leads Dameron Taylor in the overall standings by four points with Kyle Ford 71 points back.

Dezi Pedergon is fourth and leads the battle for rookie of the year by 11 points over John Robbins with Cash Wyke another 17 points back.
