Jett Neal's future is planned out
By Ken de la Bastide
When Jett Neal starts his career with the Kenyon Midget Series it will be the first step toward future plans. Neal's grandfather, Randy, has been fielding a sprint car for the prestigious Little 500 at Anderson Speedway since 2014. Fellow New Castle resident Caleb Armstrong has been at the controls of the Neal Sprint Car and is coming off a runner-up finish last year.
“The plan is to run the full Kenyon schedule,” Jett's father, Scott said. “He has been racing a micro on dirt. My dad wants him to eventually race the sprint car,” he said.
Scott said his son doesn't have a lot of pavement racing experience. “We need some pavement time,” he said. “We have tested and he did pretty well.”
Jett, 13, is excited about the opportunity with the Kenyon Midget Series. “Right now he doesn't know what to expect,” Scott said of his son. “Anderson will get his attention. Jett is feeling the opportunity for the year is special,” he added.
Scott had raced for several years and is now supporting the development of his son's racing career.
