Despite missing two races, Buddy Hollmeyer finished eighth in the Kenyon Midget point standings after a strong showing in the four dirt track races. Hollmeyer was at the season opening race at Anderson Speedway, but didn't start and didn't travel to the second race of the season at the Indianapolis Speedrome. But during “Dirty August” Hollmeyer recorded four top ten finishes including a career best third at Paragon Speedway.

During the off season Hollmeyer is working in Breckenridge, Colorado on a marketing internship and spending time on the slopes snowboarding.

“Our plan is to run the full schedule,” he said. “I was a little disappointed in my effort on the asphalt after I did so well on the dirt. “I'm hoping to be competitive and earn as many top fives and podium finishes as possible,” Hollmeyer said. “Of course I'm looking for the first feature win.”

He admitted to starting to get comfortable on the asphalt tracks and was running with the leaders at the Speedrome when a mistake sent him back in the pack. “I'm feeling more comfortable on the asphalt,” he said. “It was a big transition. I was happy with my performance on the dirt since I'm a dirt track guy. Racing on asphalt is more technical and it helps get you better on the dirt,” Hollmeyer continued.

He is looking forward to the trip to Salem Speedway where his family watched racing in the past. “Of all the tracks on the schedule, I have been less successful at Anderson,” he said. “I have to get around that track better.”
